Dear Parents, 

This year like all other years is going by very fast.  We are now in our third weeks of school.  I just wanted to go over a few things for my class just in case you have any questions about expectations that I have for students.

Accelerated Math is an independent activity.  Students work on this in their spare time in classes or at home.  This nine weeks I am going to do something different.  Students will sign a contract and filling out their contract with the number of objectives they wish to have at one time.  Normal scoring days will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  However if a student is ahead and ask me to score their work on Turesday or Thursday I will.  Please send the signed contract back to school on Tuesday of this week.

Homework will be no more than 4 - 15 problems a night, we will review homework in class and students will take an assessement on the homework to make sure they fully understand and have master the concept that has been taught.  If students don't master the concept I will reteach and will reassign more problems on that concept.  Most homework problems will be word problems this nine weeks, students will use the concepts being taught by solving word problems. 

Test will be weekly now instead of when I complete a chapter. I will test on Monday's due to my class time being shortned on Fridays for Fun Friday.  New concepts will be taught Monday through Friday with a weekly summaitve assessment on Mondays normally but sometimes we will do them on Friday.  Please refer to the newsletter for specific dates.

Please look for my weekly newsletter to come home on Mondays.

Students will also take Pretest and Test on Classscape in class on the concepts that we will be learning. 

I hope that this helps in understanding what we will be doing in class this nine weeks.  I will be more precise in my newsletter of daily and weekly expectations.
