Career and technical education prepares students for future career-technical education and lifelong learning, as well as employment. Brunswick County Schools offers eight program areas in grades 6-12 to support students: Agricultural Education, Business Education, Career Development Education, Family & Consumer Science Education, Health Occupations Education, Marketing Education, Technology Education, and Trade and Industrial Education.
Other opportunitities available for CTE students include, but are not limited to, apprenticeships, clinicals, job shadowing, and cooperative education. Another component of CTE is student organizations (CTSO). These enhance civic awareness and provide opportunities for developing social competiences that encourage positivive attitudes about living and working.
