Cougar Notes for the week of November 22nd.
Parents of 8th graders, the annual 8th grade trip to Washington, DC sign up deadline has been extended until the 24th. Please talk with your child about this awesome opportunity to experience all that our nation’s capitol has to offer. We will see the White House, Holocaust museum, Washington, Lincoln, Roosevelt, Jefferson and MLK monuments and spend a whole day exploring all of the Smithsonian Museums! This trip does not have to be paid in full until May. If you missed the parent interest meeting and have any questions please email Mrs. Nix for information. Space is limited so please reserve your child’s spot as soon as possible!
Progress Reports were originally going to be sent home this coming Tuesday, November 24th. Instead, they will be sent home Monday, November 30th.
As a reminder, regular attendance is necessary for success in school. Students who miss school fall behind their peers in the classroom and their grades are impacted. It is extremely important for your child to be in school every day. Absences will be excused for sickness, or other unavoidable causes outlined in our school policy. If your child needs to be absent, please remember to send in a note explaining the reason for the absence. More importantly, please make every effort to assure that your child has good attendance. Students with perfect attendance will continue to be recognized every 9 weeks.
Order forms for the Cougar Pride, our hardcover, all color yearbook, have been sent home and orders are coming in rapidly.
If you want your student's book to be customized with their name or favorite saying, or if you want to include symbols of your child's favorite activities, your order must be placed no later than . Yearbooks without customized touches may be ordered anytime, but the price is going up .
Remember, an order today guarantees a book of memories in the Spring!
Please mark your calendars… The SBMS Choral Arts concert is quickly approaching. The students will be performing at First Baptist Church of Oak Island on .
Finally, as a reminder, the Thanksgiving Holiday begins, Wednesday, November 25th and students will return to school, Monday, November 30th. On behalf of the SBMS Cougar family, we wish you a relaxing, restful, and safe Thanksgiving with your families.
