Become a Volunteer

With the help of Communities In Schools, also known as CIS, any interested adult in our community can be trained and placed within our school as a volunteer.

All of our volunteers must participate in an informational training session on volunteering in schools and must pass a criminal background check before interacting with our students. Once the training and the background check are complete, volunteers are welcome to come into the school to help out, and believe us when we say there are plenty of opportunities for volunteering!

Here are just a few examples:

  • Chaperone field trips
  • Assist in the classroom
  • Assist in the office or parent center
  • Become a lunch buddy
  • Tutor individual students or groups of students
  • Help organize/run school events
  • Become a proctor for testing
