  • Welcome to The Center of Applied Sciences and Technology – The COAST!

On behalf of the Staff at the Center of Applied Sciences and Technology, I want to welcome you to our website!

Here at the COAST, we offer an array of Career and Technical Education programs that promote rigorous learning opportunities that build skills for the learner to be successful here at home in Brunswick County or abroad. Course offerings include: Clean Energy, Culinary Arts, Automotive, Carpentry and Electrical programs, and Cyber Security just to name a few. Our real world learning environment utilizes having a caring instructor delivering a hands-on approach in a small class setting focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (S.T.E.M) and additional technology skills. Interested students  have the option of speaking with their home school counselor about the variety of classes offered here at the COAST. Students will attend two (2) class periods, either in the morning or afternoon, with bus transportation being offered to all students. More information is provided here.

We also provide a 9th Grade Academy program. Students are recommended by their teachers and Administration from their Middle School as they exit Eighth Grade. The program is designed to provide structured support to students that are not academically ready to be successful in a traditional high school environment. We offer a small class setting where the student receives daily instruction based on an individualized plan of instruction from a caring, highly qualified instructor. You can read more here.
