• Reminder students will not be allowed to check out after 2:00pm.  Transportation changes will also not be allowed after 2:00pm.  The end of the school day is important to our teachers and we want all students to have equal access to instruction.  Limiting check outs and changes will keep class disruptions down so all students may learn.

Welcome to Cedar Grove Middle School!

  • Welcome to the Cedar Grove Middle School community, as you enter our school you will notice

we have a special close knit educational community. Cedar Grove promotes the academic and

social development of all students in a safe and friendly environment. Our four expectations for

student success are: Be Safe, Be Responsible, Be Respectful, and Persevere.

I am honored to be beginning my third year at Cedar Grove Middle School and look forward

to working with all students, staff, and parents. My goal this year is to provide each student a

year’s worth of growth in each subject.

Our dedicated staff at Cedar Grove serves approximately 480 students in grades 6-8. In

addition to the core curriculum our school offers gifted and learning support services, reading

support (including Cracking the Code), math support, guidance services, and instructional

support services. Cedar Grove students also have the opportunity to participate in two of the

specialty areas per semester: art, physical education, band, chorus, Battle of the Books, and

technology. Students in the seventh and eighth grade have the opportunity to participate in the

following athletic programs: cheerleading, football, cross country, girls and boys soccer,

volleyball, girls and boys basketball, wrestling, softball, baseball, track and field, and golf.

Sixth grade students will be allowed to tryout for softball, baseball, track and golf this year as well.

Parents/Guardians are always welcome at our school. We view our parents/guardians as equal

partners in providing our students with meaningful educational experiences. Further, we

encourage you to become active participants in school programs and classroom activities.

Parents who would like to help in the school or on class trips will need to obtain the necessary

volunteer background checks and clearances before beginning. There are many ways to

support your child such as volunteering to help in the classroom, volunteering for the

PTA (Parent Teacher Association) or PAC (Parent Advisory Council), or attending one of our

many school programs. We certainly understand many of you lead busy lives, and it is often

difficult to volunteer at school. However, just as important as volunteering is a nightly routine of

reading with your child, checking homework, talking about their day and getting them prepared

    for the next school day.

I am excited to be part of such an outstanding team! We invite you to join our community as we

work together to best serve our students! Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have

a suggestion, concern or just a “good ole story” to share. I look forward to working with you and

    your children!

    Welcome to Bulldog Country!
