We are Patriot Proud. For the sixth consecutive year Jessie Mae Monroe has won a month on the North Carolina Agricultural Calendar. Each year students from all over North Carolina in grades k-5 send in original art work in hopes of winning one of the 12 spots on the calendar. Jessie Mae Monroe won first place with Celine Tendo’s original mixed media piece of an old pick up truck sitting in a clearing in the North Carolina Mountains ,with a freshly cut Christmas tree laying in the bed. She will also be awarded fifty dollars and her artwork will be displayed permanently in the State Agricultural Building in Raleigh. We are also proud to recognize Lily Bland, a 3rd grader at Jessie Mae Monroe. Lily’s oil pastel of pumpkins won second place and her work will be featured in the middle section of the 2021-2022 calendar. These students will be recognized at a virtual awards show on May 26, at 1:00 pm.Hats off and many thanks to Mrs. Reiter!
