Become a Volunteer
-
Your experience can help our students in and outside of the classroom and we truly appreciate the community support.
If you are 18 years of age or older, signing up is easy! There are two types of volunteers.
Level I volunteers do not need a background check because they are always around staff members. Examples include classroom/office helper, and people who work with PTA/PTO events during the school day.Level II volunteers have direct interaction with students with or without school staff present and require a background check. Examples of Level II assignments are field trip chaperones, proctors/monitors, 1:1 or small group tutoring, and mentoring. A payment of $22 to help cover the cost of the background check and processing is needed and will be valid for 3 years.Level II Volunteer Process:- Make payment of $22 here or at any school. Form of payments can be credit card (Select a School from the Elementary, Middle, or High School tab, Do not select the Pay Obligation tab to pay for your background check), check or cash. Once you complete your payment email Tanisha Rogers at trogers@bcswan.net
- Volunteer will then receive a link and a PIN number to complete the background check. You'll be notified of approval or denial via email and an identification card will be mailed to the volunteer within 7-10 days upon approval.
Level II Volunteers must participate in an informational training session and pass a criminal background check before interacting with our students. Once the simple training process and background check are complete, your "Tools for Schools" can help shape our future leaders!
