• Things to plan for:

Sports- if you want to try out for sports, you need a sports physical and a review of the concussion protocol form BEFORE tryouts.  Sports physical forms can be found on the BCS webpage, Departments:  Athletics.  Summer is a great time to take care of this.

Immunizations: Make sure your immunizations are up to date.

Attention all 6th grade parents.  Please make sure to go ahead and make appointments for the two vaccines required for 7th grade.

These vaccines will be due no later than the first 30 days of next school year.  If you have questions whether your 6th grade student has received these vaccines please contact our school nurse.

Tdap - Tetanus, Diptheria, and Pertussis (Whooping Cough)

Booster dose of Tdap for individuals who have not previously received it and are entering 7th grade or by 12 years of age, whichever comes first.

MCV - Meningococcal Conjugate Vacine (2 doses)

One dose for individuals entering 7th grade or by 12 years of age, whichever comes first.

    What Else?

Students need to bring a clear water bottle with a twist on top.  We no longer have drinking fountains, only bottle filling stations

Students change for PE- so - tennis shoes, athletic shorts/shirt, will be required.

Earbuds or headphones for use when needed IN CLASS only! :)

Welcome to South Brunswick Middle School!

    Welcome to the SBMS family!

We hope you are enjoying a safe and happy summer, and that everyone is reading lots of good books!!!!

On behalf of our faculy, I want to welcome all our students and families to the new school year.  School begins August 23rd this year (2021-22).  Our Open House is scheduled for August 18th, from 4-7 PM.   For our RISING 6TH GRADERS, we are planning COUGAR CAMP on August 9th.  This is a day where you will be invited to school (JUST rising 6th graders) to learn all about middle school. Look for your invitation in the mail the week of July 19th!

We want this year to be as "normal" as possible, which for us means it will be an amazing year.  If you have any questions before we start blasting out information, email me at

Otherwise, check our facebook and this webpage throughout the summer.

I can't wait to see all our students in one place!

    Cougar hugs,

    Marie Laboy, your Cougar Principal
