Greetings Dolphin Families,
Welcome to Union, "Home of the Dolphins". Our school serves roughly 575 students from the Shallotte and Ocean Isle Beach communities. We strive to educate the hearts and minds of our students and provide excellent instruction through our highly qualified staff in academics as well as the arts. Dolphin PRIDE is evident as you tour our school and talk with students and staff. Friendly faces greet every student and there is no mistaking the family atmosphere in our school! It's no wonder they call us "The Sunshine School"!
High quality instruction is reflected in our state test scores over the past 10 years. Our school has been recognized by the state as a 2017 National Title 1 Distinguished School for NC in the category of Sustained High Performance. On September 26, 2019, Union celebrated being named a 2019 National Blue Ribbon School for Exemplary High Performance, one of only two schools in North Carolina.
Awards are wonderful, but our greatest accomplishments lie within our students who work so hard to be responsible, respectful and safe! Our teachers plan rigorous lessons and use a variety of methods to meet the needs of our students to make learning engaging and fun! Our staff truly goes above and beyond to help students be successful. We are so thankful for the support of our parents and community.
