What is a Title 1 School?

Most educators, parents, and community members have heard the term Title 1 School. Being able to answer what is a title 1 school as established by the U.S. Department of Education, however, is more difficult. Title 1 is the nation’s oldest and largest federally funded program, according to the U.S. Department of Education. Annually, it provides money to school systems across the country for students at risk of failure.

What is the Purpose of Title 1 Funding?

According to the U.S. Department of Education the purpose of Title 1 funding, “is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments'.

Due to a lack of assessment data during the 19-20 academic year, the state lists of Low-Performing schools remained the same for 20-21.  LMS believes with target strategies we will be able to meet growth during the 2022-2023 testing window.  To see more information about our plans, please visit http://www.indistar.org.   USERNAME: Guests15622.  Password: Guests15622.
