Career and Technical Education Student Organizations
All students in career and technical education programs have the opportunity to develop their leadership skills through their participation in their Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO). Any students enrolled in a career and technical education course is eligible for membership in the career and technical student organization associated with that program.
A CTSO is designed to develop character, citizenship, technical skills, leadership and teamwork essential for students who are preparing for the workforce and further education. They enhance students' civic awareness and provide opportunities for developing social competencies and a wholesome attitude about living and working.
In addition, CTSOs can provide motivation toward the development of technical skills thorough the use of techniques such as competitive events, recognition events and awards programs.
