After teaching in the regular ed classoom setting for 11 years, I decided I wanted to earn my Master's Degree and become the Media Coordinator for Southport Elementary School.  I had graduated from UNCW with my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education and then earned my Master of Library Science Degree from ECU.  I have really enjoyed my transition into the Media Center.  I get to work with all of the students in our school and am able to expose them to some fantastic literature!  It is so rewarding to have students excited about reading.  I try to instill a love of books in each of our students.  Reading is such an important part of life!
