Our schools are facilities that are not only used to educate children, but are buildings open for public use. Our gymnasiums, cafeterias, athletic fields, multipurpose rooms and parking lots are all areas available for rental. Our facilities have hosted churches, HOA meetings, professional development training, voting/polling, fundraisers, pageants, athletic tournaments, and many other types of events.

NOTE: Effective August 19, 2024, the Facility Use Application process will change. Former versions of the application will not be accepted.

BCS now requires potential Customers/Renters to apply for Facility Use via FlowPath Events. This software replaces the physical (paper) application and you (the customer) will receive updates on the status of your application via email, as it goes through the approval process.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. Can anyone use a school building?

       --No, there are restrictions as to who is allowed to rent space in one of our buildings. The restrictions are outlined in the information packet.

Brunswick County Schools (BCS) does reserve the right to refuse/deny any application, based on past usage and/or any non-qualifying factors as stated on page 3 of the BCS Policy Manual, Policy No: 5030 "Use of School Facilities".

 2. Is there a charge for non-profit organizations?

      --Yes, profit and non-profit organizations are charged on a separate scale, as outlined in the Information Packet. You must show evidence of 501(c) 3 status to be considered for fee reductions and/or waivers.

3. Will I be required to obtain insurance?

      --Yes, General Liability Insurance in the amount of no less than $1,000,000.00 (One Million) is required.

4.  How will I know if my dates are available for use?

      --Each school keeps its own calendar for Facility Use. Once you enter your requested date(s) on FlowPath, it will indicate any initial scheduling conflicts. You will be notified via email of any internal changes in the schedule by the School Administrative Assistant. You will be able to follow the progression of your application. 

It is strongly suggested that applications are submitted two weeks/ten (10) business days in advance of your scheduled event, to allot adequate processing time.

Applications received later than the suggested time frame are NOT guaranteed to be processed.

Once processed by the School and BCS Facility Management Staff, you will receive an invoice (if applicable) to be paid, and may proceed with your event.
