Miss Amanda Artz

Miss Artz began teaching music at Lincoln Elementary in the 2018-2019 school year.  Previously, Miss Artz had worked in schools and businesses in several different states and in Africa.  Miss Artz is enjoying getting to know the students and staff at Lincoln as well as the beautiful North Carolina landscape and weather!

Our music classes are filled with a variety of activities.  Naturally, we sing, but we also learn many different instruments.  Over the course of a student's time at Lincoln, they will practice and perform on rhythm sticks, hand chimes, jingle bells, shakers, tambourines, xylophones, various sizes and styles of drums (including steel drums), woodblocks, suspended cymbals, gong, cowbells, recorders, ukuleles, and piano/keyboard.

In addition to our performance skill development, we also learn about music history and music theory.  At Lincoln, we work to instill a deep appreciation for many different types of music while we strive toward music literacy.  We celebrate music and enjoy all of the benefits it has to offer!
