• SURVEY RESULTS

    We appreciate you taking the time to share feedback in our surveys.  This is the location where results will be posted once they are available.  Surveys are intended to provide feedback for further research and planning and are not indicative of a final decision.

    Remote Learning Survey:  BCS partnered with NC State and the Friday Institute and through this partnership, a Remote Learning Survey for our region was been developed with detailed questions specific to schools/grade levels. It featured separate surveys for Students, Teachers, Parents.  Surveys are in PDF format and might take more time to load due to the size of the file/graphics.

     

    Plan B Options Survey:  BCS created several versions of what a possible 'PLAN B' could look like and wanted to get feedback on the options for further research.  There were 5,138 responses.

    Below are the descriptions of each Plan B option and the results from the survey.

    1) A/B DAY: 
    -All students alternate days for face to face instruction with 50% of students face to face Monday-Tuesday(Group A) and 50% of students face to face Thursday-Friday(Group B).
    -Wednesday becomes a remote learning day for all students and a day to deep clean facilities.

    • 47.2%, or 2,423 responses, favored this option.

    2) A/B WEEK: 
    -All students, 50% in Group A and 50% in Group B,  alternate weeks for face to face and remote learning.  1 week face to face followed by 1 week remote learning and continued alternating. 
    -Deep clean facilities on rotation.

    • 20.9%, or 1,076 responses, favored this option.

     3) HYBRID LEARNING:
    (Hybrid Option 1
    -High school students start with 100% Remote Learning M-F (for a 9 week period).
    -K-8 students start 100% face to face learning with some K-8 students utilizing the high school buildings for a 9 week period.
    -Deep clean facilities on rotation.

    • 13.3%, or 685 responses, favored this option.

    (Hybrid Option 2)
    -High School students start with 100% remote learning (for a 9 week period).
    -K-8 students start 100% face to face learning with some K-8 students utilizing the high school buildings for a 9 week period.
    -Monday-Tuesday/Thursday-Friday with Wednesday being a remote learning day for all students and a day to deep clean buildings.

    •  10.8%, or 553 responses, favored this option.

    4) OTHER EDUCATION OPTIONS:
    -We are exploring other education options and my child will not be attending BCS for the 2020-2021 school year.

    • 7.8%, or 401 responses, favored this option.
