Student Organization for Advising and Recreation (SOAR) is responsible for organizing Relay for life, school spirit weeks, and quarterly school-wide activities (such as kickball and dodgeball tournaments, ugly sweater contests, and year-end celebration). This group is also responsible for meeting with Mrs. Absher and advising her on concerns and suggestions from the student body.

The focus of the club is to enjoy the creative process, while building a portfolio of work that shows growth in skill level, and displays the student's talents. Students can experiment with a variety of materials. (Some examples include: oil pastels, charcoal, watercolor pencils, acrylics, etc.) If you’re into digital art and have your own equipment, there’s time for that too. No specific skill level is required; however artists are expected to produce work. Students will mentor each other, and provide a positive and supportive space for expressing creativity and self-reflection as an artist.

Crafts including knitting, sewing, embroidery, seasonal crafts, and jewelry making as well as asking those within the club what their individual interest or skills pertain to. We plan to sell items that some of the club makes such as hats, scarfs, jewelry, or keychains.The club plans to donate knitted apparel to the less fortunate.

The music club provides an opportunity for students to explore playing instruments (both acoustic and electric), and interacting with other musicians of various skill levels. Some instruments are provided by the ECHS during club time, and for checkout during the school day. Students will learn how the care and keeping of equipment; learning guitar tab; preparation for talent show and coffeehouses, songwriting workshops, and information on how to get your songs heard/published; "The Business End of Booking Your Band;" and Basic Sound Production.

Media Club comprises two sections: Journalism and Yearbook. Students will meet together and then be allocated to a group depending on interest and need:

Yearbook: Tell the story of a year. Yearbook will allow you to show off your creative side while learning valuable career skills. Develop a theme, learn about design and layout, photography, reaching out to the local community for advertisement support, and sell yearbooks to students. We need news writers, columnists, lay out artists, editors, photographers, sports writers, creative writers, and business minded people to help make our publication the best it can be! If you are among the hardest working, you might even be eligible to join the Quill and Scroll, ECHS’s first journalism honor society! Botany is the scientific study of plants, including their physiology, structure, genetics, ecology, distribution, classification, and economic importance. Our club has focused on the classification of plants, horticulture, and general knowledge and appreciation of plants. We have developed and held an annual spring plant sale. In the future, we plan to learn more about plant propagation techniques and develop ideas for how we can use plants and plant techniques to learn more about science. We also will develop some community service projects related to plants (Growing food for food banks, Plants as therapy, Plant Education, Environmental Science, etc.) This club Is great for anyone with an interest in plants or who would like to learn more about them.

Explore your dramatic self. Join the Drama Club, which will encompass Acting Techniques, Stage Mechanics, Improvisation, Theatre Games, Backstage, and many other aspects of Theatre. The group will utilize these skills to put on a production.

Members will work with a professional instructor and student leaders to design and perform a dance routine at our talent show, Beta Convention, and Spring Dance Recital. They also provide a routine as a Dance Team for our Basketball Tournament at halftime of the Firebird games.

Tabletop club focuses on board games, card games, and TTRPGs such as D&D. We will be using the supply of board games from the nest, however, you are welcome to bring your own. If you are interested in D&D but have never played, we will gladly teach you.

Key Club assists Kiwanis in carrying out its mission to serve the children of the world by performing acts of service in their communities, such as cleaning up parks, working at Big Toy Day, collecting clothing and organizing food drives. Members will learn leadership skills by running meetings, planning projects and holding elected leadership positions. There are also opportunities to go to a weekend leadership development retreat. This year’s major project is the Car Seat Donation Project for Brunswick County.

International Club is an opportunity to learn and introduce oneself to different cultures across the globe. In this club, we will cover the basics of the said culture; such as its language, history, traditional and popular culture, et cetera. Along with this, we will be optionally participating in the Intercultural Exchange Program, which we will be working for Community Service and an event in January.

Students are selected into the National Honor Society. The four pillars of the society are leadership, scholarship, service and character. NHS is a service organization. The chapter raises money to fund service projects that serve the school, community, national and international organizations. Students are eligible to be considered for induction spring semester their sophomore year. Students must meet all four pillars of the society, scholarship is a 4.0 weighted GPA.

Gay-Straight Alliance, or GSA, is a student-led and student-organized club that aims to create a safe, welcoming, and accepting school environment for all youth, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. GSA provides a supportive environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBTQ+) students, those that are questioning their identity, have LGBT friends or family members, or just care about LGBTQ+ issues.

This student-led club is an organization of students with faith in Christianity. Students work together to study and discuss God's word and support each other in life as Christian students. Students also may plan service projects or other ways to support BECHS staff and students. Currently an independent organization, we have the option to also be a chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), if we so choose.
