BCS CTE Mission
Empowering all CTE students to be successful citizens, workers, & leaders in a global economy.
BCS CTE Vision
To empower all CTE students to seamlessly transition to post-secondary and career opportunities that support the creation of a highly skilled workforce.
Overview
Career and technical education prepares students for future career-technical education and lifelong learning, as well as employment. CTE concentrators, earning at least four related technical credits and meeting other criteria, are better prepared for the further education and advanced training essential to being successful in the 21st century career. Brunswick County Schools CTE partners with business and industry partners, community college and other postsecondary institutions to ensure Career and Technical Education in Brunswick County meets the needs of each individual student.
BCS CTE Program Areas:
- Agricultural Education
- Business, Finance, and Marketing Education
- Career Development Education
- Family and Consumer Science Education
- Health Science Education
- Computer Science and Information Technology Education
- Trade, Technology, Engineering and Industrial Education
Other opportunities available for CTE students include, but are not limited to, apprenticeships, clinicals, job shadowing, and internships. Another component of CTE is student organizations (CTSO). These enhance civic awareness and provide opportunities for developing social competences that encourage positive attitudes about living and working.
