    BCS Athletics Family,

Thank you for visiting the Brunswick County Schools athletic web-site. We are honored to serve as the Athletic Directors for the Brunswick County School System.  We care deeply about our athletic programs, student-athletes and coaches in Brunswick County. High School and Middle School athletics also teaches us team concepts and how to work together for the good of the team, we feel strongly that athletics teaches us so much about life and builds character, discipline, a solid work ethic, and self- esteem. In Brunswick County, we have a passionate community and our fan base is very supportive of our overall athletic programs. We appreciate your support and we encourage you to continue supporting our programs, student-athletes, and coaches. While we always want to put a winning product on the field, we also want to develop young men and women of character and integrity.

The Brunswick County School System offers High School sports for our student athletes to participate in including: football, softball, cross country, volleyball, cheerleading, soccer, basketball, baseball, track, tennis, and golf. Each team participates in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association. All eligibility requirements and rules are set by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association. Eligibility is handled by the coach of each sport and the athletic director at each school. All High School Athletes must have a current physical and must be academically eligible to participate in athletics.

Our Middle School programs offer 10 sports for our student athletes to participate in including football, basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, track, volleyball, wrestling, golf, and cheerleading. Middle School Eligibility is handled by the Head Coach of each sport. All Middle School athletes must have a current physical and must be academically eligible to participate in athletics.

Participation in athletics is a privilege and not a right. We expect our coaches to hold our student athletes to high standards inside and outside of the classroom. All athletes have to earn playing time and playing time is determined by the Head Coach. It is important to remember that athletics should not interfere with academic progress and it requires a lot of time to maintain good grades and play a sport. While being a true student athlete requires a dedicated work ethic, the lifelong values that are taught through athletics will certainly benefit students throughout their lives.

Thank you for your support of athletics in Brunswick County Schools.
