Welcome to BCS Professional Development!
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Brunswick County Schools’ Professional Development page. If you are a new or experienced teacher interested in teaching in Brunswick County, come grow with us! If you are a Beginning Teacher in Brunswick County, continue to grow with us! If you are a veteran teacher in Brunswick County Schools, continue to grow as a highly effective teacher as you mentor and support our new teachers and your colleagues. Our Professional Development Team proudly offers professional growth opportunities for all levels of teachers and for all staff to support academic outcomes for every child.
Brunswick County Schools’ Vision is to have “a community of well-educated, employable, and socially responsible citizens.” Our Mission is “to produce college and career ready high school graduates.” With our focus on growing students from crayons to college and career readiness, we take pride in supporting and growing our faculty and staff. It takes a village to raise a child, and every child in Brunswick County Schools matters!
In our Here We Grow! 2019-2024 Strategic Plan, Goal 3 states that “Every student, every day has excellent educators.” The Professional Development Team will continue to implement qualitative data driven teacher and staff training to ensure we are meeting the needs of the students in Brunswick County. And, we will continue to grow as educators by cultivating leadership skills based on professional development for Teacher Leaders, Aspiring Administrators, Assistant Principals and Directors. George Couros says, “If you want to be a master teacher, you have to be a master learner.” Our team is here to support you in your professional growth journey as you work to provide personalized learning for the students in Brunswick County.
