Weekly Update: Click here to read Mr. Kirby's call home.
Parents please make sure you get a lunch application in right away for the 2018-2019 school year. An application much be filled out every year if you would like your child to receive lunch benefits
Parents please go over the dress code with our students and make sure they follow the policy. We had a few issues last week with our gentlemen wearing their pants too low and wearing hoodies and hats in the building. Ladies, if you are going to wear leggings please make sure you wear a dress, shorts or skirt over them that comes to the mid thigh and any top you wear must be long enough that the waist is covered when the hands are raised.
Parents thank you for your continued patience as we get the class schedules situated. We are trying to make sure our students are in the appropriate classes that will maximize their academic success.
Parents are always wondering what they can do to help their children in school. One of the easiest things you can do is ask your child what they were taught each day and have them articulate the lessons of the day. Please do not settle for the old "I didn't learn anything" trick. Make them take out their notes and explain them to you or keep probing until you get a clear understanding of the lessons of the day. This is actually a form of summary that helps students remember. Another thing you can do to help is to get them to read for 30 minutes every day. And take some time and read with them if you can. Reading is the foundation of a successful education that all other subjects build on. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a blessed week
