BOARD BRIEF: July Committee Meetings

Brunswick County Schools July 20,2021 Committee Meetings

(In Attendance: Board Members Steve Barger, Robin Moffitt, David Robinson, Gerald Benton)

 Here are the highlights from the July 20th, 2021 Brunswick County Schools Board of Education Committee Meetings:



  1. Complete Cleaning Contract: This is for continued additional custodial staff to assist with COVID cleaning protocols for the 2021-22 school year as they were in place for the previous year.  This item was put on Consent Agenda for 10/3 Board of Education Meeting.
  2. Lincoln Elementary Roof Replacement: Contract to Highland Roofing Company put on Consent Agenda for 10/3 Board of Education Meeting.
  3. NBHS Master Plan: Update given on the Master Plan for North Brunswick High School in anticipation for future growth.  District is in the process of obtaining an updated demographic study to compare with previous study.

  2. Remote Learning Feedback Survey: BCS conducted a month long survey from the school community to get feedback on the 2020-21 school year.  The results were presented to Board Members.

  3. 2021-22 Calendar Revision: Board of Elections is requesting additional school sites for elections.  The School Board has requested that the district look at other options that do not lead to loss of instructional time for students that is a result of the current Board of Elections request to use school facilities.

  8. Gaggle Contract Renewal

  1.  Budget Ammendments put on Consent Agenda for 10/3 Board of Education Meeting for Local 1, Capital 1, and Special Revenue Fund 1.
