SUPPORT: New Telehealth Crisis Support Program

Brunswick County Schools and Novant Health have partnered through a Duke Endowment Grant to provide a crisis response platform via telehealth to support middle school students at five of our district middle schools.
The schools include Leland Middle School, South Brunswick Middle School, Shallotte Middle School, Cedar Grove Middle School, and Town Creek Middle School.
The telehealth platform is an additional health services tool to access the needs of our students.  These services conducted by licensed mental health therapists will provide assessment screening, safety planning, family education/support, and service coordination for our students who may be experiencing a mental health crisis.

Informational handouts for parents and guardians are available at the Middle Schools that include an intake form, consent to treat, and release of information and should be returned to the child's school counselor.
We're excited about this new partnership and platform that will help children in need get the help they deserve.
