ASH, NC – At Tuesday’s Brunswick County Board of Education meeting, Ms. Terressa Gause-Hill was approved as the next principal of Jessie Mae Monroe Elementary School. Gause-Hill will replace Alicia Williams as she will retire at the end of the 2023-2024 school year.
Ms. Gause-Hill currently serves as the Assistant Principal at Jessie Mae Monroe Elementary School and previously served in the same capacity at Southport Elementary School. Ms. Gause-Hill served as a teacher at Supply Elementary School from 1995-2002 and at Jessie Mae Monroe Elementary School from 2002-2022. She also has experience in serving as a literacy coach, assistant testing coordinator, and summer camp site coordinator.
BCS Superintendent Mr. Dale Cole shared congratulatory remarks on Ms. Gause-Hill’s approval as principal.
“Congratulations to Ms. Gause-Hill on being approved as the next principal at Jessie Mae Monroe Elementary School. Ms. Gause-Hill embodies what it means to be 'Brunswick Built' as she has spent her entire career in Brunswick County Schools. She is well-known in the community and is passionate about the students. I can't wait to see what she will accomplish as the instructional leader of the school,” Cole said.
Gause-Hill has an impressive educational background, earning a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Western Governors University. Ms. Gause-Hill will serve her first day as principal of Jessie Mae Monroe Elementary School on July 1, 2024.
