BOLIVIA, NC – At Monday’s Special Called Meeting of the Brunswick County Board of Education, Ms. Maura Cleary was approved as the next principal of Bolivia Elementary School. Cleary will replace Dr. Kelli Dalton as she will move into a new role at the BCS Central Office.

Ms. Cleary is an assistant principal at Leland Middle School and has been in that role since 2022. Ms. Cleary also has nine years of experience as a classroom teacher in Brunswick County Schools.

BCS Superintendent Mr. Dale Cole shared congratulatory remarks on Ms. Cleary’s approval as principal.

“Congratulations to Ms. Maura Cleary on her approval as the next principal at Bolivia Elementary School. She is an enthusiastic and knowledgeable instructional leader who will energize staff and motivate students to succeed in the classroom and life,” Cole said.

Cleary has an impressive educational background earning both a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master of School Administration from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Ms. Cleary will serve her first day as principal of Bolivia Elementary School on July 1, 2024.
