Shallotte Middle Shifts for the New Year

Shallotte Middle Shifts for the New Year

We are pleased to welcome 2 new teachers to Shallotte in January.

Ms. Helen Wils will begin January 9th.  She will teach 7th grade ELA in the 600 pod.  Ms. Wils shares,

“Hello, Pirates! I am thrilled to introduce myself to my colleagues and students and your families. My name is Helen Wils and I come to you from New York, where I was born, raised, and educated. I have spent the last ten years teaching English at the secondary level and I look forward to spending the next couple of decades working here in my new home. My family and I moved to Brunswick County in July and we have been enjoying life here since. We have fallen in love with the dramatic skies, friendly people, and warmer weather. We feel fortunate to raise our young daughters in such a lovely place. As a teacher, I have high expectations for each of you and I promise to work alongside you to meet your goals and mine. I look forward to the new year and meeting you!”

Ms. Paula Boston begins January 3rd.  Ms. Boston will teacher 7th and 8th grade Math in the 700 pod.  From Ms. Boston,

“Since retiring in September of 2017, my husband and I  have been traveling and looking for a place to settle down. We love the Brunswick County area so this is It. I decided to go back to teaching and am so excited to become part of your family. Even though I have taught math at the middle school, high school, and college levels, middle school is my favorite. My last position was at Vance County Early College High School and before that I taught middle and high school math at Roxboro Community School. I can't wait to get started on this new adventure with you.”
